Last night we went to the ubar. New friends here in Thailand. We listened to live music and watched a lot of pretty girls dancing. Everyone here is extremely friendly. During the show the guitar player asked over the Mic if I was having a good time. We had a great time.

I just ate 2 eggs, and some pork ribs. Im watching these guys build a thing we can sit under to stay out of the sun.
There is a ceremony tonight like a wedding rehearsal dinner. Wedding prep is in full blast now.
And here is a cute pic of Fai on one of the scooters the family owns. I think they have 5 or 6. Scooters are common here. Everyone drives one.

The internet at Fais house was down last night so right now we are outside eating breakfast with the family. Fai is teaching them some origomy for the wedding. They are folding money in heart shapes. Cute. Fai gave me one when we first started dating.
Last night we went to the Thai festival at the college by the river. It was gorgeous. We lit candles and made a wish and set them in the river. It was a little windy so most of the candles got extinguished. They were also making balloons and lighting a candle and setting them free and they fly like a hot air balloon way up high in the sky.it looked amazing at night.
I have photos on the ipod but I write you from my cel phone.

Today was a chill chill day. Fai and I took her mom to work in the morning then we went and had an American style breakfast. Yes, surprise, they have that here. We had scrambled eggs, toast with orange jelly and butter. Yummy. The bread here is really good. It’s been real fresh, white bread. So far I’ve been able to eat just about everything. The tricky thing is I have to avoid the ice cubes and water. Not too hard to do. Most restaurants sell stuff from the can or bottle.
After breakfast we stopped home to do laundry, but Fais dad already did it for us.
So far the highlight today is what we did next. Fai and I went and got a 2 hr Thai massage. Things here are cheap. The massage only cost $20. You can’t beat that price.
The place was really fancy too. First they wash our feet in warm lemon water. Smells really fresh. U should try it. Then we go upstairs and in a wood floored room are 2 small beds each with a pillow. We change into our Thai massage garments they provide and lay down. The massage lady comes in and does the massage. It’s pretty extensive. They spend 15-20 on each part of the legs and arms and end with a face massage.
We are planning to go there a few more times before our trip ends.
Then we went and bought some Thai books for Fai and picked her mom up from work.
We have a special treat for tonight…stay tuned…

When Fai was a kid she used to go to this sweet milk place and hang with her friends. It’s milk, ice, and sugar, lots of sugar. It’s so good.

We went into the city and I got a haircut. It starts off with a 10 or 15min scalp massage and shampoo. They shampoo your hair for 2 times and condition it once. The girl washing my hair was a cutey. Then the guy cuts my hair, then another rinse and quick wash and then another girl styles my hair. Best haircut I ever had. I’m glad now I didn’t gwt it cut before I left!
Too bad Fai didn’t take pictures of the girls.

Today after the mva we came home and then went right back with Fais aunt and her cousin. Her other cousin is getting married on Saturday.
Fai and I get to participate in the wedding. I’ll let you know more about what we get to do after it happens as the finer details are top secret.
Attached are the killer outfits I get to wear to the wedding courtesy of Fais aunt who took us shopping for clothes for the wedding.
My morning outfit consists of blue jeans and this very soft shirt.
My evening outfit consists of a shiny red shirt the material is really thick and real high quality. I saw Fais dad wear a blue shirt just like it at Fais brothers wedding. It’s really cool. The black jeans Fai and I bought at the mall yesterday.

Early am we took Fais mom to work. She is a teacher at a high school. Then we went to copy some documents so Fai can get her Thai license renewed. While she was doing that I was clowning around in the car taking pictures. Here they are from this morning. The rest of the day we spent at the mva.
Fai passed the drivers test!

We went to a different mall today, I couldnt take any pictures there because they prohibit cameras in the mall. I’ll just describe some stuff that I saw.
First we walked by 2 stores in the mall, the one store is a Dermatologist place and the nurses there have sexy uniforms. They all wear tight short skirts and some kind of jacket. They kind of looked like stewardess.
Across the hall is a similar store but I think it was for eyeglasses. Lots of pretty girls all dressed up in fancy suits.
At the top of the mall is the movie theater and video arcade. Lots of teenagers hang out there.
I got to see the arcade version of guitar hero. It doesn’t have instruments just big colored buttons on the table deck part where normally you would see the joystick. And that’s how you play. You press the colored buttons to match the music as the notes go by.
We ate at kfc in the mall today. Kfc is slightly different from usa kfc. Thai kfc has several different menu choices. Like white rice, Thai spicey chicken, some kind rice cake, but they also have chicken strips, regular chicken etc. It’s pretty good. Ketchup and chili sauce which is like mild spicey sweet and sour sauce. It’s really good.
It was cool to experience Thai kfc.
